GIVING BACK

Wild and Free Foundation - Avenues and Acres Home Team - Wayzata, MN

The Wild and Free Foundation was formed in 2011 by a grade school friend of Steve’s, with the purpose of protecting wildlife and wildlife habitat. When the Foundation started, their focus was on providing training and gear to anti-poaching rangers. Today they continually support anti-poaching rangers on the ground with scholarships and soccer gear, but also uplift the communities living next to wildlife reserves. In 2019, Steve and his two siblings traveled to Africa to witness first-hand the men’s semi-pro soccer team they sponsor; Aptly named Albers Strikers. There is now a women’s team as well that he has included in his sponsorship!

Erin participates in Kids in Need Minnesota. The Kids In Need Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed in the classroom by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need. For the 15 million kids who come from families struggling with extreme poverty, getting school supplies can make all the difference in the world to their future success. How can a kid be expected to succeed in the classroom without the basic tools to learn? Each year, the Kids In Need Foundation helps nearly 200,000 teachers and more than 5 million students in some of the most challenged communities across the country. In our 25 years, we have distributed more than $1 billion in supplies to kids who would otherwise go without.
